Tonight's the Night

Every second Monday since early September our members, who are enthusiastic about DNA,  have gathered via zoom to learn about this essential resource for family history research. Those who attend this group worked collaboratively on our Mission Statement:

Sharing one's DNA results and information is a personal experience and can sometimes have unexpected outcomes. At LMFHG, we will provide an ethical, safe, respectful, confidential and supportive environment where members are comfortable using their DNA information as a learning experience for other members.

While our attendees are enthusiastic about DNA, we have a range of experience in the use of DNA for research, several of our attendees are curious folk who have not yet tested while a few have tested at multiple companies. Our program, which is responsive to the needs of our attendees, is presented by our members with each session having time for input and questions from all present.

Tonight at 7pm we will be learning about the Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) site. In earlier sessions we have had an overview of testing sites, discussed Ancestry.com, MyHeritage and methods for recording our matches.

While currently our meetings are a benefit of LMFHG membership ($30 per annum) we may, at some time in the future, invite other interested parties to our meetings.
