Born at Kilmarnock, Scotland about 1871 to ? and ? Wilson, Thomas enlisted November 1915 at Melbourne (Broadmeadows), Victoria.
Admitted to hospital 12.11.1916 (influenza).
Thomas returned home February 1918 (defective eyesight and age), being discharged on the 5th June 1918.
I located Thomas resting in an unmarked grave, now long forgotten, so August 2019 I placed a cross adorned with poppies on the gravesite, taken a photo of the grave and uploaded the photo onto the Northern Cemetery website as a permanent record of his service.
I submitted an application to DVA October 2020 asking for a Commonwealth War Graves Plaque, curbing and marble chip, and this was accepted June 2021, completed September 2021.
Also served Boer War.
Many thanks to Phil Winney and members of Merewether - Hamilton - Adamstown RSL sub-Branch for the purchase of death certificate.
Lest We Forget.
