In 1958 from D.F. Gray of Blackall's Park is a photograph of an Aboriginal Shield Tree.

I really should have looked at the whole article before my initial response. Bert (Hubert) Bear wrote the St Andrews Cross spider article. He was a great friend and mentor to my dad, Jim (D.F.) Gray. They both worked at Cardiff railway Workshops. Bert introduced my dad to bushwalking in the Wattagans and dad became a dedicated birdwatcher. Bert’s real interest was orchids, and he had a superb collection at his home in Venetia Ave.
